Dr. Jennifer O’Neill named Norton Public Schools Superintendent


The Norton School Committee has selected Dr. Jennifer O’Neill as the next superintendent of the Norton Public Schools (NPS). She will assume her new role on July 1.

At the April 13, 2023 Norton School Committee meeting, the Committee voted to appoint Dr. O’Neill as the Superintendent of Schools pending contract negotiations. During the May 11, 2023 meeting an official three-year contract was signed. 

Dr. O’Neill has significant experience as an elementary teacher, director of curriculum and instruction, and central office administrator for Norton Public Schools, with this school year being her 20th year at NPS. “We are excited to welcome Dr. O’Neill as the next Superintendent of Norton Public Schools. Dr. O’Neill has worked closely with Dr. Baeta over the last seven years to prepare her for this new role. We look forward to the next chapter for Norton Public Schools,” said Norton School Committee Chair Sheri Cohen. 

O’Neill holds a Ed.D. in Curriculum, Teaching, Learning, & Leadership from Northeastern University as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a concentration in Elementary Education from Stonehill College, a Master of Education in Elementary Education from Fitchburg State University, and a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study in Educational Leadership from Bridgewater State University. She received the 2022 Assistant Superintendent Leadership Award from the Massachusetts Association of School Superintendents and lives in Mansfield with her husband and two children.
