Norton Middle School Resource Officer receives Exceptional Service Award

School Resource Officer for Norton Middle School (NMS) Marc Robichaud was recognized by the Massachusetts Juvenile Police Officers Association with the Exceptional Service Award at the 16h Annual New England School Safety Conference on May 10.

As a School Resource Officer, Officer Robichaud works closely with the middle school student support services/guidance department to deal with crisis situations. He provides knowledge about procedures and responsiveness to inquiries regarding safety issues, concerns, or questions. In addition to serving in the role of School Resource Office at NMS for the past three years, Officer Robichaud teaches Project Alert, a program created to reduce substance use among middle school students, and frequently participates in filming as a guest anchor on the NMS morning newscast.

Nominated by Norton Middle School Principal Vincent Hayward, "Marc is a highly valuable member of the Norton Police department and the Norton Middle School Staff. His dedication and engagement to the town of Norton and its residents across these two central departments is noteworthy and can serve as a model for others in this field. His impact is tangible and obvious to all within our community."
