Dear NPS Community:
The announcement later today by Governor Baker is the first step in looking carefully at what options and/or requirements will be in place for the 2020-2021 school year. The approach announced today is the "initial" document and many changes could be made in the coming weeks.
There is much to consider, and today's announcement is the beginning of a very long summer. Utilizing our internal process we have a Reopening Task Force consisting of parents, teachers, students, school committee, administrators, and many others. We will also announce the three working committees that will address the three models we must prepare for September. Lastly, we have our School Nurses and local Board of Health who will make final recommendations on health and safety issues.
Our priority will be student and staff safety, using local data via the Norton Board of Health, communication and input from families, and collaboration with our local unions. The work begins today and it will take most of the summer to complete. My office will communicate updates via email regularly.
Please see attached the full document as released.
Further announcements to families and staff will be forthcoming the week of July 6th.
Happy 4th of July to all.
Joseph F. Baeta, Ed.D.
Superintendent of Schools
