Norton High School class of 2020 valedictorian and salutatorian


Of around 180 graduating seniors, Vicki Tran and Breelyn Gilbert have been named Norton High School's Class of 2020 Valedictorian and Salutatorian respectively.

Valedictorian Vicki Tran will be leaving Norton High School having always put forth incredible academic and leadership skills. Vicki has demonstrated this through her impressive GPA, volunteerism at nursing homes, and involvement with NHS clubs/sports. Aside from being the president of the Math Honor Society, vice president of the Science Honor Society, and treasurer of her class council, Vicki has also been the recipient of many school based awards. She's received the Presidential Excellence Award for History (2017, 2019), Presidential Excellence Award for Math (2018, 2019), Presidential Excellence Award for History (2019), Presidential Excellence Award for Science (2019), and the Presidential Excellence Award for English (2019). She has also earned an award from the Bristol County Education Association (BCEA) for being Norton's top ranking senior for Class of 2020. Vicki is a valued leader of the school's varsity tennis team, which she has been a part of for all four years of high school and awarded MVP for two of those years. Vicki is a first generation college student and has decided to attend Tufts University in the fall, where she plans on majoring in math on the pre-med track with hopes to become a physician in the future.

Throughout her time at Norton High School, Salutatorian Breelyn Gilbert has consistently excelled in all areas. In addition to her high ranking GPA and Honor Roll status, she is a member of six honor societies, serving as the co-president of the Science Honor Society and vice president of the Math Honors Society, and during her senior year enrolled in three AP courses as well as her Honors level classes. Breelyn is a valued leader of the Class of 2020, where she has exemplified her leadership skills with every school event and volunteer initiative as vice president. She is also vice president of public relations for the NHS DECA chapter, captain for the volleyball team, and spends time volunteering at the Attleboro YMCA. In the fall, Breelyn will be attending Providence College as part of the Honors Program where she will be double majoring in biology and psychology and earning a certificate in neuroscience.
