Budget Process

 

 

 

 

The Business Office is responsible for the development and administration of the annual operating budget, administration of grants and revolving accounts, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, human resourcesfood servicestransportation and DESE audit compliance for the school district.

  • The Norton Public Schools invites sealed proposals from food service management companies for the operation and management of its school food service program. Further information or copies of the Request for Proposal may be obtained beginning Tuesday, February 17, 2026 by emailing:

    Sealed proposals will be received up to 10:00 am on March 16, 2026 at the Superintendent’s Office located at 64 West Main Street, Norton, MA, 02766. If at the time of the scheduled due date, the School Department is closed due to inclement weather or other unforeseeable events, the public recording will be postponed until 10:00 am on the next normal business day. Sealed proposals will be accepted until 10:00 am on that date.

    A pre-proposal conference will be held for all interested parties on February 24, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at the Superintendent’s Conference Room, 64 West Main Street., Norton, MA.

    Norton Public Schools reserves the right to waive any informalities in proposals submitted and to accept any proposal or part thereof, and to reject any and all proposals, or any part of any proposal, if it be in the interest of the Town of Norton to do so.

Norton Public Schools 2025-2026 Fee Schedule

Transportation: $300 (No Cap)

  • Fee applies to each student for full year 
  • Payment and registration due by July 14, 2025 *  $50 late fee applied for registrations submitted after July 14th
  • "One way” transportation and partial payments are not available
  • *Transportation fees apply to Grades 7 - 12 students and Grade K - 6 students living less than 2 miles from their school.
  • All School choice students must pay fee

Tutoring $35.22 Per Hour 

Food Service (MySchoolBucks) Extra Meals

  • High School, Middle School and Elementary School Breakfast $2.00 
  • High School Lunch $3.50
  • Elementary School and Middle School Lunch $3.25

High School Fees 

  • Athletics $300 Per Sport (No Cap)
  • Hockey $500
  • Please verify with Business Office eligibility for Free & Reduced Athletic Fees ($110 for Free Lunch students; $175 for Reduced Lunch students) (No Cap)
  • Clubs and Activities: $50 Per Club/Activity NO CAP
  • Parking Permit: $25 Per Space 
  • Lost Book/Vandalism: Replacement Cost

Middle School Fees 

  • Baseball/Softball: $300
  • Soccer: $300
  • Cross Country: $175
  • Basketball: $300
  • Wrestling: $175
  • Clubs and Activities: $50 Per Club/Activity NO CAP 
  • Lost Book/Vandalism: Replacement Cost

Elementary Schools 

  • Clubs and Activities $50 Per Club/Activity ($100/family at Elementary maximum per year) 
  • Lost Book/Vandalism: Replacement Cost
